Shirley Broderick
Shirley Broderick came to Canada from England in 1948, after training with the Italia Conti Theatre School and the Phyllis Badell Ballet School in London. In a 1957 UBC production of “The Tempest”, Shirley played Ariel to Robert Clothier’s Trinculo. They were married three months later. In the following years she worked in radio, television and film – much of the time with her husband. They appeared together in such notable productions as “The Gin Game” at the Orpheum, “Foxfire” at the Playhouse and in “The Beachcomers” on television.
