Hal Beckett
Hal Fox Beckett is an award-winning composer, conductor and music producer who over the last three decades has established himself as one of Western Canada’s most respected musicians. A longtime resident of Vancouver, he has composed music for operatic and symphonic ensembles, film, tv, and multi-media projects; he is also the Music Director for the Vancouver Film Orchestra. Among his notable projects, Beckett has conducted film scores for such mega film studios as Universal and Lionsgate and provided orchestral services for Michael Buble’s hit album Crazy Love. He also produced the 102 national anthems recorded by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. When not composing, Hal is actively involved in the Vancouver arts community as a member of SOCAN and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. He also serves on the regional board of directors for the Screen Composers Guild of Canada.
