Garry Chalk
Garry Chalk arrived in Vancouver from Southampton, England at the age of six. After engaging in a variety of careers including the army, the stock market and Social Services, Garry saw a production of “Of Mice and Men” and he found his calling.
Initially performing in theatres across Canada, he worked his way into television commercials, and then Film, TV and Voice.
Over the last thirty years, Garry has worked virtually non-stop in TV series and Movies of the Week, largely as the Guest Star or Lead, in such projects as “MacGyver”, “Highlander”, “Millennium”, “Eureka”, “The 4400”, “Psych”, “Alcatraz” and the cult classic film, “Watchmen”.
Garry is also a prolific voice artist and his list of radio campaigns is lengthy, including GM, Toyota, McDonalds, General Paint, and ABC Restaurants.
His wide range of character voices can be heard in numerous animation series, such as
“T-Rex,” “Dream Patrol,” “Conan,” “G.I. Joe”,” Transformers”, as well as many animation features, including “The Fearless Four,” “Rudolph,” “Camelot,” and “Reboot, The Movie.”
Garry was a series regular in “Cold Squad”, as Inspector Pawlaczuk, for which he was a two-time Gemini Award winner and Leo Award nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Dramatic Series. After that, he recurred as Colonel Chekov in “Stargate SG-1”. Garry is currently shooting his second season as series regular, Lieutenant Oakes in the Emmy nominated AMC series, “The Killing”.
Garry is also a talented musician and regularly performs his original songs in various venues throughout Vancouver and across North America.
