Renee Cherrier
From Vancouver, Renee began her ballet studies, at age seven, with Rosemary Deveson. As she progressed, Renee used her VANCOUVER BALLET SOCIETY Scholarships for seminars with Alexandra Danilova, Jacques D’Amboise, and Hollywood’s unique Carmelita Maracci.
Renee returned to Canada, joined Joy Camden’s Pacific Dance Theatre and also performed in musicals with Jerry Orbach and Chita Rivera for the Vancouver International Festivals.
On a Cross-Canada search, Renee was discovered and taken to Toronto for the SPRING THAW REVUE. Then it was on to over 250 print, television and radio commercials, many television series, including 17 years as a principal cast member with WAYNE & SHUSTER. Renee also worked in TV Broadcasting as a Reporter, Producer, and Director.
Returning to Vancouver, Renee, for 5 years, was an Executive Board Member of UBCP / ACTRA becoming an advocate for the BC Performers and was more recently, Board Member of the VANCOUVER BALLET SOCIETY – coming full circle.
