This summer, BC Entertainment Hall of Fame (BCEHOF) in Partnership with Vancouver Civic Theatres (VCT) are offering FREE guided tours of the Orpheum, one of the most beautiful concert halls in North America.

The Orpheum, a designated National Heritage Site was built in 1927. Home to the beloved Vancouver Symphony Orchestra; the theatre also hosts international musicians, popular concerts and unique events throughout the year.

These informative and entertaining tours take place Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday at 11am from July 12 to September 30th. The 90 minute entertainment-focused walking tours are hosted by the BCEHOF and reveal some secrets of the theatre’s history. One story includes Frank Sinatra almost being kicked out of the theatre for breaking dressing room lights while he practiced his golf swing!

The Orpheum is a member of the VCT venue collective which also includes the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and Plaza, Vancouver Playhouse and ANNEX. The FREE tours are made possible by the VCT underutilization grant which was approved by Mayor and Council to bring community focused events and programming to the VCT.

The tour includes stair climbing and may be challenging for those with mobility issues, it is not recommended to children under 8 years of age. Registered participants should arrive at the Orpheum’s Granville Street entrance at least 10 minutes prior to the 11am start time.

Orpheum Tours are limited to a maximum of 30 people on a first come first served basis for reservation please call (604) 665-3047.  As the Orpheum is a working theatre, tours, availability and content may vary.
