Nancy Hermiston
Canadian-born lyric coloratura Nancy Hermiston established herself as one of Europe’s most versatile and exciting vocal artists. She has stared with opera companies in Nurnberg, Innsbruck, Dusseldorf, Mainz Ulm and the Wexford Festival in Ireland, as well as numerous North American companies. Her New York debut took place at Carnegie Hall. Parallel to her singing career, she began her career as a stage director in 1978. She also founded the first women’s opera guild in Germany and sponsors young arts from around the world. She is Professor of Voice and Opera, Stage Director at the University of British Columbia. She is the recipient of many awards and was inducted as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2013.
