It’s That Time of Year Again…Free Tours at the Orpheum Theatre

The Orpheum

For 2020: Due to COVID-19 the Orpheum tours have been paused. Please check back at a later date for updates.

Once again this summer, VCT and the BCeHOF are hosting FREE guided tours of the Orpheum theatre, one of the most beautiful concert halls in North America.

The Orpheum, a designated National Heritage Site, was built in 1927. Each year the theatre hosts international musicians, popular concerts and unique events; it is also home to the beloved Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

The 90 minute walking tours are led by the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame and reveal some secrets of the theatre’s history. One story includes Frank Sinatra almost being kicked out of the theatre for breaking dressing room lights while he practiced his golf swing!

Tickets online show all 2019 tours as being sold out, please note – tickets are not required as walk-up patrons will be accepted at the door as long as space permits.

As this tour takes place in an operating theatre, some sections of the building may be inaccessible.

Presented in partnership with Vancouver Civic Theatres and the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.

*Please meet guides at the Granville Street entrance.
*Please note that this tour includes walking and stair climbing.
