Sarah McLachlan
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sarah has made Vancouver her home since 1988. Her first album Touch was released in 1988 by Nettwerk Records and went Gold in Canada due to the underground hits “Vox” and “Steaming.” A dedicated fan base took flight and further albums Solace, 1991 (“Drawn to the Rhythm” and “Into The Fire”) and Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, 1994 (“Hold On”, “Possession” and “Good Enough”) moved her into the mainstream with album sales over 5 million. In 1997 Sarah released her latest album Surfacing, and launched a 35 concert tour with a new traveling concert concept known as ‘Lilith Fair’ – multi-artist shows featuring a host of female-fronted acts. Now one of Canada’s biggest international music success stories, Sarah has been honoured with two Grammy Awards (Best Female Performer and Best Instrumental Track) and four East Coast Music Awards. She was nominated for 4, and her album for 2, Juno Awards.
