Jean Orr

Jean Orr is acknowledged as the first Canadian Giselle. She is the Founding President of Ballet BC and is current Honorary Chair of the Founders Council. Throughout her rich career she has participated in the dance communities of Ottawa, Winnipeg Montreal and Vancouver. Among her career highlights she includes being Principal Dancer at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, CBC TV appearances and the 2001 Vancouver YWCA Woman of Distinction Award for Arts and Culture. She was instrumental in the development of the Scotiabank Dance Centre.
