Al Reusch
Al Reusch was born Feb. 1, 1914. In 1946, Al was a musician, big band leader, and a broadcaster. Aragon Recording Studios was opened at 615 West Hastings. The three-room space was one of Canada’s first studios, built mainly by Al Reusch. Aragon was extensively used for recording by the country and folk artists of the time. In 1947, the label Aragon Records was created. Al acquired sole ownership of Aragon Studios in 1954. He was one of Vancouver’s first DJs, hosting “The Al Reusch Show” in the mornings on CKM O Vancouver and “Name It and Play It” in the afternoons. He died on February 1, 2000.
