Bill Richardson
Bill Richardson was born in Winnipeg in 1955. In 1976, Bill received his B.A. from the University of Winnipeg. He graduated with a Master of Library Sciences at UBC in 1980. He then worked as a children’s librarian for six years, before turning to writing and broadcasting. He has written more than a dozen books including “Bachelor Brother’s Bed & Breakfast”. In 2000, Bill published his first novel for young adults. After Hamelin. Bill’s wonderful story has gone on to earn more than a dozen awards and nominations. He has contributed to CBC Radio since 1984, and is the host of Saturday Afternoon at the Opera and In Concert, heard Sunday afternoons, CBC Radio 2’s new forum for classical concerts recorded across the country. He’s made many freelance contributions to both network and regional shows. In 1992, Bill began hosting a summer show called Crosswords then became the guest host of a classical music request show. In 1996, he was chosen as the show’s permanent host; it became known as As You Like It. In 1997, Bill became the host of Richardson’s Roundup. His columns have appeared in The Globe and Mail, Western Living Magazine, The Vancouver Sun, Georgia Straight, and Xtra West Magazine. Bill makes frequent public appearances reading poetry, narrating musical works and giving keynote speeches.
