Robert Silverman

As one of Canada’s most distinguished pianists, Robert Silverman has performed in concert halls throughout North America, Europe, the Far East and Australia. His discography numbers close to 30 albums, including complete sonatas of Beethoven and Mozart. His “high level of artistry, his moving interpretations of a wide range of music… and his commitment and contribution to music in Canada” has earned him wide recognition. A member of the faculty at the University of British Columbia since 1973, he served a term as Director of the School of Music, and was awarded an honorary Doctorate of letters. In 2013 he was inducted into the Order of Canada.
