Jerry Wasserman

Jerry Wasserman is an actor, critic, theatre scholar and Emeritus Professor of English and Theatre at UBC, where he taught for 45 years. As aprofessional actor, he has more than 200 credits for theatre, film and television. He has received the Sam Payne Award from the Union of BC Performers, the GVPTA’s Jessie Richardson Award for Career Achievement, and the Dorothy Somerset Award and Killam Teaching Prize from UBC.Jerry is editor of Modern Canadian Plays and four other books. He also wrote and hosted Modern Canadian Theatre, a 12-hour telecourse for BC’s Knowledge Network. He has reviewed theatre for CBC Radio, The Province, and is currently theatre critic for the Vancouver Sun.
