Sally Yeh

Sally Yeh is a legendary figure in the Chinese music and film industries, with a career spanning over four decades. Yeh, who grew up in Victoria, BC  is a household name in Cantonese and Mandarin pop music.  Renowned for her versatile vocal range, charismatic stage presence, and ability to perform in both Cantonese and Mandarin, she has left a lasting impact on the music scene. Her iconic songs, including Blessing, Cool Walk, and Throw Heart to Fire, remain timeless classics. With over 30 studio albums, millions of records sold, and sold-out concerts worldwide, she has solidified her status as one of the most influential artists in the industry. Beyond music, Sally also made a mark in film, starring in critically acclaimed movies such as Peking Opera Blues. Her performance earned her a Best Actress nomination at both the Hong Kong Film Awards and Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards.

She achieved international fame during the golden age of Cantopop in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming one of the most influential female artists in Asia. Her music transcended borders. She was the first woman to win the Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Award in 1988 and received the prestigious Golden Needle Award in 2010, recognizing her lifetime contributions to music.
