Denis Simpson
Denis’ extensive musical career has spanned 30 years as an actor, singer, songwriter and dancer. He appeared in the original productions of “Hair”, “Ain’t Misbehavin'” (Dora Award), “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Indigo”, “A Chorus Line”, “Five Guys Named Moe”, “The Coloured Museum”, and his 1996 Jessie-winning performance in the acclaimed one-man show “Denis Anyone?”. Recent acting roles include productions of “Angels in America” by Citadel Theatre and Centaur Theatre, Carousel Theatre’s “Two Weeks with the Queen” and “A Christmas Carol”, Liquid Theatre’s “Two 2 Tango” and the Harold Arlen revue “Come Rain or Come Shine” at the Belfry Theatre. Denis has also directed a critically acclaimed touring version of “Ain’t Misbehavin'” and has appeared on “The X-Files”, “Macgyver”, “Acting Crazy” and, of course, as the host of TV Ontario’s “Polka Dot Door”.
